At the 2019 One Club Creative Boot Camp, a 4-day concepting and pitching competition, my team and I developed a campaign for Truth Initiative, a non-profit dedicated to fighting addiction. Truth challenged us to create a campaign that educates young people about JUUL’s health risks without using scare tactics.

Our idea: Create a world that reveals the shitty truth about JUUL – a world without control.

Our mockumentary-style campaign revolves around a high school where bathrooms have been shut down due to the vaping epidemic. While at first a minor inconvenience, the problem grows until students lead a rebellion to bring back the bathrooms.

By using humor to depict the consequences of vaping, we can reach teens without turning the ad into a boring PSA. We took risks, but they paid off – our presentation won 1st place at the Creative Boot Camp.
